Johnson County 3&2 State+National Qualifier
First of i would like to say the boys played great. The first game on Friday the boys looked pretty
good. They played tough defense but could never get the bats going. they ended up losing the game 6-3 to the Blue Springs
Titans who however at the end of the tournament had 40 runs against when the cardinals only had 20. The next morning the boys
had tough schedule, 3 of the players had to get over from their soccer game in the morning. The boys played a excellent game
and had perfect pitching from John Scofield. They played great all around baseball and ended up winning 7-2. The boys
then took a rest waiting til their next game at 5:00. The boys played great and again another great pitching performance from
Brennan Burns. The Cardinals ended the day 1-1 losing 7-6. Miraculusly the boys got into a quarterfinal game against, ironically
the same team they had just lost to 7-6. Again a close game, the boys played tough all around baseball. Robert Calvano gave
the Cardinals another excellent performance. It came down to the last inning where the cardinals on an error lost, but played
a all around great weekend.
Stump Park AAA/AA Tournament
At the boys first tournament they got to play quality teams such as the Mac n' Seitz Indians, Blues, and
the Olathe Cardinals. The Cardinals had a tough first day in playing the Blues and the Indians. They lost both games
but had a close finish against the Blues. On Sunday the team had to play three games playing teams such as the Sidewinders,
and the Olathe Cardinals. The first game the boys played solid baseball and got a good win and boosted their confidence. The
second and third game The Cardinals had to play The Olathe Cardinals a worthy opponent. The boys played a tough
game and came back from a 9-5 deficit to tie the game at nine. The game ended up in an unusal tie at nine. The Cardinals then
went over to a different field to once again play the Olathe Cardinals. The last game looked as if the guys were out
of gas and it showed that this was our first tournament of the years. The Cardianls will continue their season with
the upcoming tournament at JC 3&2 April 1-3. Good Luck Cardinals!
